As we approach the launch of our new financial systems on May 6, 2025, we want to ensure you have the information you need to feel confident and prepared. Over the past several weeks, we've shared important updates about these upgrades—including redesigned statements, easier online account opening and our new MIF Mobile app.
This FAQ page brings all those details together in one place. Here, you’ll find answers to common questions, guidance on how to get started with MIF Online and MIF Mobile and reminders about key dates.

System Upgrade Overview

In spring 2025, we’re excited to launch several upgrades to enhance your experience:
A new and improved MIF Online, providing an intuitive, user-friendly online interface for accessing and managing your accounts
Introducing MIF Mobile, MIF’s mobile app, for secure account access across all devices, plus remote deposit functionality
Improved online account opening for added convenience at mif.elca.org

The upcoming platform and app upgrades are set for May 6, 2025.
MIF Online will be unavailable beginning at 5 P.M. central time on Friday, May 2, until we go live with the enhanced system at 8:30 A.M. central time on Tuesday, May 6. -
These updates are designed to make managing your finances faster, easier, and more convenient. With MIF Online, MIF Mobile, and improved account management tools, you’ll have more control and flexibility in managing your finances.

Update Your Contact Information: Confirm your contact details, including your email, to ensure you receive all important updates. You can update your info via the Contact Information Update Form or by calling 877-886-3522.
Update Automatic Payments and Deposits: Ensure that companies or individuals who use automatic payments or deposits (such as employers or billers) have your new routing number.
Wire Transfer Instructions: If you use wire transfers, please follow our updated instructions.

Account Changes

Several important changes have already been implemented (as of 3/15/25):
New Routing Number: As part of system improvements, all MIF accounts now have a new ABA routing number: 071093389. This routing number belongs to the ELCA Federal Credit Union, MIF’s correspondent bank. Your account number(s) remain unchanged.
New Checks: Due to the routing number change, please begin using new checks immediately. To order new checks, contact our customer service team toll-free at 877-886-3522.
Wire Transfer Updates: Our wire transfer system has been upgraded. Please visit here for updated instructions.

No, your account number will remain the same. Only the routing number has changed. Please update your routing number for any automatic transactions (such as payments or deposits) as needed.

To order new checks with the updated routing number, please contact our customer service team toll-free at 877-886-3522. We’ll be happy to assist you with your order.

The last day to use old checks is December 31, 2025.

If you use wire transfers, please follow our updated instructions. Beginning May 2, at 5 p.m., MIF will be unable to accept any wires received that do not use the new forms and procedures included on our Forms page.

We're making a few updates to our fee structure.
NSF (insufficient funds) and stop payment fees are being reduced from $25 to $15 per transaction. At the same time, the fee for outgoing domestic wire transfers will increase from $25 to $30. There are no other fee changes at this time.

Statements have a fresh new design and a clearer layout. Now it is easier than ever to track your activity and spot key details at a glance. Loan statements for ministry customers will now be separate from investment statements.

You might notice small changes to how product names appear on your investment and loan statements. While the names may look a little different, the products themselves remain the same reliable options you know and trust.

MIF Online
How do I enroll in the new MIF Online?
If you’ve used MIF’s online account access in the past, you already have a User ID—no need to start from scratch! New users can get set up in just a few simple steps. Select your user type below to get started.
NOTE: Ministries can only login if they have an existing User ID or if MIF has completed the initial enrollment steps on its behalf. New ministry customers, please call MIF customer service toll-free at 877-886-3522.

Navigate to https://www.mif.elca.org.
Use the login module in the upper right-hand corner of the homepage to enter your current User ID.
Your password has been temporarily reset to the last six digits of your Social Security number.
Review and accept the Terms and Conditions.
Upon your first login, you will be asked to change your password and select your security questions.
Enter a phone number for security verification—this helps protect your account.
Congratulations! You are now registered with MIF Online.

Navigate to https://www.mif.elca.org.
From the customer login area in the upper right-hand corner of the website, click Enroll to begin.
Enter your full Social Security number, last name, and date of birth.
Review and accept the Terms and Conditions.
Create your User ID and password, then select your security questions.
Enter a phone number for security verification—this helps protect your account.
Congratulations! You are now registered with MIF Online.

Navigate to https://www.mif.elca.org.
Enter your current User ID and temporary password.
Information on your temporary password will be provided upon first login.
Review and accept the Terms and Conditions.
Upon first login, you will be asked to change your password and select security questions.
Set up a phone for identity verification—this helps protect your account.
Enter Business Profile Information. *
If your ministry does not have a primary phone (cell phone) or primary email address on file, the system will prompt you to add it. If your ministry does not have a cell phone, it is okay to enter the ministry’s business phone in this field.
Congratulations! You are now registered with MIF Online.

To enroll as a new ministry customer, you will need to call MIF customer service toll-free at 877-886-3522 to get started.
Other common MIF Online questions:

If you have forgotten your User ID or password, click on the Forgot User ID? link or Forgot Password link on the login screen and you will be able to rest your password.

If your credentials appear invalid, try the “reset username/password” prompts. If the issue persists, please contact us toll-free at 877-886-3522.
Ministry Accounts

As the administrator, login to your MIF Online ministry account at https://www.mif.elca.org.
Select Settings from the upper right-hand corner.
Select Users.
To add or edit users, you may need additional phone verification.
Select to receive a text message or receive a call from the options.
Enter the verification code and click Verify.
The add new user option appears.
Click Add.
Complete all fields, select Review, then click Accept. Take note of the User ID you are assigning to the sub-user and share it with them. The User ID must be at least six characters long.
NOTE: This process emails a link that allows the recipient to enroll and access selected accounts and capabilities. The link expires after 30 minutes. Please ensure the email address is correct, and the new user is ready to complete the enrollment process. If the sub-users misses this window, you can resend the enrollment link on the same page you used to add the user.
IMPORTANT: All fields are required. If a field is incomplete, an error message will display prompting the user to complete every field.

As the administrator, login to your MIF Online ministry account at https://www.mif.elca.org.
Select Settings from the upper right-hand corner.
Select Users.
To add or edit users, you may need additional phone verification.
Select to receive a text message or receive a call from the options.
Enter the verification code and click Verify.
The users screen appears.
Click Edit to update a sub-user user.
Click Delete to delete a sub-user. A deletion successful screen will appear.
NOTE: You can Enable or Disable users using the radio buttons at the top of the screen.

An administrator is the only user who can update the ministry’s profile (address, email address, phone), add and manage sub-users and use Bill Pay.

The MIF Online administrator MUST first be an authorized signer for the ministry’s MIF account(s). If you need to update an authorized signer, complete the Change Authorized Signer for an Investment Form.

No, there can only be one set of administrator credentials for a ministry using MIF Online.

These steps are designed for administrator customers to complete independently, with MIF customer service available to assist if needed.
Please note: This process will work best if the current administrator and the future administrator are able to work together (online, over the phone, or in person).
Current administrator
Login to the MIF Online ministry account at https://www.mif.elca.org.
Then navigate to Settings>Profile>Password.
From here, the future administrator will need to update account settings.
Future administrator
The future administrator should set a new password. They will need the current administrator’s help to validate the current password.
Then navigate to Settings>Security Center.
Select Security Questions and answer new security questions. The future administrator will use these answers when logging in.
Return to Settings>Security Center and select Identity Verification Phones.
The future administrator can add their cell phone number and delete any old numbers from the security center.
Return to Settings>Business Profile>Business Email and Phone Number. The future administrator can add their personal email address and phone number here.*
If the future administrator was previously a sub-user, they can navigate next to Settings>Users to delete their old sub-user account, if they wish. They will no longer need this account.
The Ministry administrator transition is complete.
*Note: This is for security alerts only and will not update the account’s MIF business profile information.

If the current administrator is no longer available to handle this transition, the future administrator will need to contact MIF customer service toll-free at 877-886-3522.
The MIF Online administrator MUST first be an authorized signer for the ministry’s MIF account(s). If you need to update an authorized signer, complete the Change Authorized Signer for an Investment Form.

External transfers are available only to the Ministry account administrator. The administrator will need to enter their personal birthdate to begin the process to verify that they are over 21. This birthdate does not need to match anything on file for the ministry.
Online Documents

Please note: After the new system goes live in May, online access to statements and check images from January 1, 2025, to May 5, 2025, will be temporarily unavailable until July 2025 at the earliest.
Once fully implemented, you will have online access to a rolling 12 months of statements, and one year of online access to check images before May 6, 2025, and online access to unlimited check images after May 6, 2025. In the meantime, you can login to MIF Online to view past transaction details, balance history and interest payments.
If you are currently enrolled to receive your statements electronically, here’s what to expect:
April 2025—Your April 2025 e-statement, traditionally available at the end of the month, will be unavailable until July. When made available, this statement will contain all April activity plus May 1-4 activity.
May 2025—Your May 2025 e-statement will be issued at the end of the month and will only contain activity from May 5-31. At this time, you can also view historical statements from June 2024 to December 2024.
July 2025—You should have access to a full 12 months of historical e-statements.
If you receive paper statements, you will continue to receive them during this time.

Login to your MIF Online account at https://www.mif.elca.org.
Select Electronic Statements from Services in the right-hand column.
An Account E-Sign Disclosure and Consent Agreement will appear in a new window.
Review the disclosure, then click the green I AGREE button in the lower left-hand corner.
A User Information screen appears with Delivery Elections.
Select the radio button next to Electronic for each account.
Click Next at the bottom of the screen.
Confirm your email address and delivery selection and click enroll.
Congratulations! You are now enrolled in e-statements.

Login to your MIF Online account at https://www.mif.elca.org.
Select Electronic Statements from Services in the right-hand column.
To change your statement delivery options, select Edit User Settings.
Select the radio button next to Electronic or Paper.
Click Submit.

Login to your MIF Online account at https://www.mif.elca.org.
From Services on the right-hand side of the screen, click Electronic Statements.
A window appears indicating a new window will open for this service.
Click Continue.
Click View Statement to launch the statements for the associated account.

You will see transactions that have been made in your accounts for a two-year period. Account history includes details like the date, amount, description and account balance.
MIF Mobile

The User ID and password you created for MIF Online will be the same for MIF Mobile.

NOTE: To enroll in MIF Online, you must have active accounts with MIF.
Visit the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
Search for MIF or Mission Investment Fund.
Download MIF Mobile.
Open the app from your phone and use your credentials for MIF Online or, if you do not already have credentials, select Enroll Now at the bottom of the login screen.
Enter your full Social Security number, last name, and date of birth.
Review and accept the Terms and Conditions.
Create your User ID, password and select security questions.
Set up a phone for identity verification.
Congratulations! You are now registered with MIF Mobile.
Once you enroll for the first time in either MIF Online or MIF Mobile, you can use these credentials in either place.

In an effort to protect your account, users will be asked to enter a multi-digit code to verify your identity. You will have a choice to have a code texted, emailed, or a phone call.
If you choose a phone call, the number for Fiserv security information calls is 678-498-2706. Add this to your safe caller list.
